The first seminar was held on 13 December 2016 with a Reception Tea Party prior to the seminar. In the sharing seminar, President, Professor Simon Ho was invited to give an Opening Remark to congratulate the award recipients on their dedication and outstanding achievements in teaching.
In the seminar, Dr Gavin Bui, Associate Professor of Department of English, and Dr Chan Chi Kit, Assistant Professor of School of Communication, delivered talks on the topic of “Sense of Achievement, Fun and Autonomy in Task-based Language Teaching and Learning” and “To Learn or Not To Learn: Learning motivation of students” respectively. Dr Bui and Dr Chan shared their teaching pedagogies and experience with the audiences and provided many practical and inspiring examples of engaging students in learning.
The sharing seminar was well attended with about 50 HSMC staff members from different Schools. It was followed by a Q&A Session, participants were keen to raise questions and engaged in discussion with the speakers.
