Abstract:

Assessment and feedback are inextricable components of the learning process, yet providing feedback that is both effective and engaging can prove to be a formidable challenge.

In this seminar, Dr Chung will first share strategies for providing constructive and useful feedback that nurtures student growth and development. You may also acquire the knowledge and skills required to tailor feedback to individual student needs and preferences, as well as to incorporate feedback as a more interactive and engaging part of the learning process.

Then Dr Ma will talk about how to use peer feedback to enable students to generate internal feedback. She will illustrate how peer feedback can be implemented in a different way: By placing an emphasis on comparison activities during peer feedback, teachers can help students produce feedback on their own work and develop their evaluative capacities. The comparison activities discussed in the seminar can hopefully be transferred to other learning contexts.
