Abstract

Virtonomics, one of the most famous business or economic game online, have surpassed a million of unique users recently, since it first came out in 2006. Gamified e-learning is a blend of online learning, fun simulation games, social interactions, and team training. In a gamified learning environment, learners are provided many opportunities to learn by engagement. It places learner(s) in a prescribed setting by a set of rules and procedures, allowing learner(s) to role-playing in a particular situation where they may challenge themselves and each other, in order to motivate them to actively acquire, apply, modify, and create old or new knowledge. The benefits of combing social platform type technology, games, and simulated training enhance both learning and teaching. Despite of the fact that off-the-shelf business simulations are readily available to scholars and students, what is missing is the ability to tailor games around learning outcomes appropriate to specific teaching areas. Using visual blocks to customize games to suit teachers’ specific education needs, we present you our solution: The Abizgame platform.

Light refreshment will be served. All academic staff are welcome to join.
