Working with student – Understand their needs to facilitate their Whole Person Development

To facilitate staff to establish effective communications and good relationships with students, the Academic Staff Development Committee (ASDC) invited Dr Tom Fong, the Associate Vice-President (Student Development and Campus Services) and Ms. Rebecca Chan, Director of Student Affairs, to deliver a sharing session entitled “Working with student – Understand their needs to facilitate their Whole Person Development” on 3 March 2016 at College Chamber.

In the seminar, Dr Fong and Ms Chan shared and explained the findings of students’ needs and employers’ expectation, and provided a number of important principles in working with students.

The seminar was well attended, with over 40 participants included both Academic and Administrative staff from different Schools, Departments and Units. Positive feedback was received from participants who found the seminar contents informative and useful, not only for working with students, but also for curriculum development and service planning. .
