The Digital Learning Section successfully delivered two sessions of the GenAI-Empowered Creativity Workshop on 26 and 27 January, conducted in hybrid mode with students from HSUHK and the National University of Management (NUM), Cambodia. The cross-institutional format offered students an authentic collaborative learning experience that reflected the global and interdisciplinary nature of social entrepreneurship.
The workshop was facilitated by Kelvin Wan for the MGT2021 module, with a focus on positioning Generative AI as a thinking partner rather than a content-producing shortcut. Moving beyond tool demonstrations, the sessions guided students through a structured learning flow—C.R.A.F.T for better questioning, Concept Prompts for creative reframing, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for working with their own materials, and AI-supported discussion summarisation—to support higher-quality discussion, shared understanding, and decision-making in team-based projects.
The workshop also featured practical components led by CTL colleagues. Andy Chan, Senior Instructional Designer, introduced essential Zoom collaboration practices to support effective online teamwork across locations, while Charlotte Lee, also Senior Instructional Designer, facilitated an interactive session on AI-generated images. Her session encouraged students to critically reflect on creativity, bias, and the role of human judgement in interpreting AI-generated visual outputs.
Through hands-on activities, guided reflection, and an interactive Kahoot activity, students actively explored how GenAI can support preparation, collaboration, and sense-making—without replacing critical thinking or human judgement.
