CTL Booth Welcomes New Students with Learning Support and Immersive VR Experience

Event Highlights

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) welcomed new students at HSUHK’s New Student Welcome Day on 24 August 2026, introducing them to CTL’s support services and initiatives in learning and teaching.

This year, the CTL Booth highlighted how advanced technology can create interactive and practical learning environments. The session featured an immersive virtual reality experience that allowed participants to explore the potential of VR in education.

The activity also sparked students’ interest in developing their own projects. “I’m not just interested in trying the VR experience. I would like to develop my own VR project,” said a Year 3 entry student from Computer Science.

Through its participation in the Welcome Day, CTL also introduced students to its work in service-learning, digital learning, and teaching and learning enhancement. These initiatives help students begin their university journey with greater confidence. The CTL team looks forward to supporting students throughout the 2026–2027 academic year.

New students participate in interactive activities to learn more about CTL’s innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
