We are pleased to announce that the E-Learning Section of the Centre for Teaching and Learning has been renamed to the Digital Learning Section, effective for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This change signifies a major shift from traditional electronic learning to a more integrated approach to digital education.
After thorough analysis and discussions with key stakeholders, including the Director, the VPLSE, and other colleagues, we recognized that “e-learning” no longer fully represents our expanded focus.
The new name reflects our commitment to fostering digital literacy and addressing the growing needs of AI-assisted teaching, game-based learning, and the development of smart learning spaces.
The new logo embodies multiple interpretations. It represents a brain, symbolising learning, and AI-enhanced education; a cloud, depicting digital tools and resources; and leaves, illustrating the growth of digital pedagogies.
The interconnected nodes signify the branching out of knowledge and the intertwined nature of modern education. This versatile icon captures the essence of digital learning, integrated technology, growth, and connectivity.
As the Digital Learning Section, we will continue to provide comprehensive support, training, and resources to enhance technology use in education.
This new identity aligns with HSUHK’s mission to create a smart, integrated, and sustainable platform for effective teaching and learning in the artificial intelligence era.
We look forward to your continued support and collaboration as we advance our initiatives to innovate and enhance digital learning solutions for the HSUHK community.
