Event Highlights
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), Human Resources Office (HRO), and Office of Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) (PV/VPARO) jointly organised the HSUHK Induction Programme for New Academic Staff 2025 on 18 and 25 August 2025, to provide new teachers with a comprehensive overview of teaching and learning environment at HSUHK.
During the morning session on the first day, Dr Ben Cheng, Director of CTL, delivered welcome remarks and introduced the Senior Management team to new academic staff members. The School Deans introduced their Schools’ Department Heads and extended a warm welcome to the new academic staff members.
During the programme, Professor Simon Ho, the President, shared the latest developments at HSUHK. This was followed by presentations from Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), Dr Josiah Chan, Vice-President (Organisational Development), Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), covering topics such as teaching and learning, governance, campus wellness, research, and performance appraisal.
To welcome the 2025–26 academic year, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has organised a series of seminars and workshops under the theme “Teaching Excellence in the New Semester: Refresh, Recharge, and Renew”. These seminars and workshops focused on revitalising teaching practices, sharing best practices, and introducing innovative approaches to enhance student learning for both current and new academic teach staff. The seminar topics included generative AI in education, supporting services for SEN students on campus services, exploring innovative multimedia tools, service learning, classroom management, and VR metaverse platform for teaching and learning.

Dr Willy Yue, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Ms Rosalie Woo, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Finance, share their insights on building better learning experiences on the second day of the seminar series.


Dr Victor Chan, Associate Director (Service-Learning) of CTL shares his service-learning experience with participants, while Dr Eugene Wong, Director of Virtual Reality Centre, introduces the VR metaverse platform for teaching and learning.
