Abstract:
Aligned with the University’s strategic plan for 2023-2028, which prioritizes “IT, Data, and Smart Technologies” and emphasizes offering quality education through innovative, collaborative, and inclusive teaching methods, the significance of digital literacy cannot be underestimated. This seminar aims to promote digital literacy and the integration of emerging technologies into the curriculum and teaching methods at HSUHK. It will commence with an introductory section on the vision of E-Learning at HSUHK, followed by an exploration of renowned E-Learning platforms and tools such as the Learning Management System, Massive Open Online Courses, Student Response Systems, and a new in-house Artificial Intelligence tool service available at HSUHK. The second part of the seminar will focus on the latest advancements in the Virtual Reality Centre. Attendees will learn how virtual reality, augmented reality, and other related technologies can enhance the teaching and learning experience, provide interactive and immersive practical use cases, and improve learning outcomes. At the end of the seminar, participants will have the unique opportunity to visit the Virtual Reality Centre, gaining firsthand experience of its capabilities.
