Abstract:
No matter how hard we work at making the lecture interesting, having students merely listen is a passive way of learning. A lecture is still a lecture, which is considered as boring, not engaging, and results in a low level of knowledge transfer. Teaching for transfer is crucial for university students who are preparing for a diverse range of careers to adapt to change and pursue lifelong learning. In this seminar, sharing will be made on how traditional classrooms can be transformed into an interactive learning hub which facilitates transfer of learning. Co-creational learning activities through in-classroom roleplays, digital storytelling, and student-initiated collaborative learning activities and assessment will be shown as examples to engage students to actively research, exchange, and present.
