The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) collaborated with the School of Decision Sciences (SDSC) to deliver the live webinar “AI Applications for Operational Efficiency, Decision-Making, and Staff Capability Development” for Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) on 14 May 2026. The webinar attracted over 300 participants from SHKP and focused on practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in workplace operations, workflow automation, strategic decision-making, and staff capability development.
The webinar commenced with opening remarks by Professor Chan Wai Sum, Dean of the School of Decision Sciences, who highlighted the growing importance of AI literacy and organisational readiness in the era of digital transformation.
The webinar featured sharing sessions by Ir Dr George Ho, Mr Harry Lee, Dr Valerie Tang, and Mr Kelvin Wan, SFHEA, who introduced different perspectives on AI adoption in professional and organisational contexts. Topics included AI-driven operational intelligence, AI-supported business decision-making, workflow automation using Power BI and Power Automate, and lessons from higher education practices on moving from “AI tools” to “AI thinking”.
Representing CTL, Mr Kelvin Wan shared HSUHK’s institutional AI journey from 2024 to 2026, highlighting the evolution from early AI adoption towards deeper integration of AI into learning, evaluation, structured problem-solving, and reflective practices. The sharing also showcased examples of AI-supported student and staff outputs across disciplines, including interactive storytelling, AI-generated music, collaborative projects, and AI-enhanced workflow practices using Gemini, NotebookLM, and Copilot.
The webinar received positive feedback from participants. Participants appreciated the practical sharing, workplace-oriented examples, and exposure to AI applications across different operational and organisational scenarios. Many participants also expressed interest in more advanced and in-depth workshops related to AI automation and workflow integration.
