Mr Kelvin Wan, Digital Learning Specialist from the Digital Learning Section was recently being invited as a panelist at the Learning Analytics Symposium 2025, held on 29 April 2025. The event was organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Education Development Centre (EDC) and the Communities of Practice team.
The symposium brought together leading scholars and practitioners to explore how Learning Analytics (LA) and Generative AI can support student success and drive educational transformation.
Kelvin joined a high-level panel featuring Professor Dragan Gašević, a world-renowned expert in learning analytics. During the discussion, Kelvin emphasized the importance of shifting the focus from purely technical models to learning-centred approaches, grounded in psychology, instructional design, and student motivation.
The symposium served as a meaningful platform for interdisciplinary exchange and reaffirmed the importance of placing learning at the heart of data-informed educational practices.
