Event Highlights
An ordinary afternoon was made miraculous, all thanks to our guest speaker presenting an online miracle with a total of 35 HSUHK teachers and administrators.
Coming all the way from the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, and the Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong, Mr Donn Gonda walked us through an online collaborative tool, Miro. In the interactive workshop, our participants, though in our own places, got to share the same online space and build our interactive community where Donn showed us all the cool tricks and techniques of engaging students’ interest in learning concepts and theories, and sharing their multimedia artefacts. What made this Miro-cle workshop even more miraculous was the realisation of how the online and face-to-face learning environments should never be a dichotomy. In fact, our participants were reminded of incorporating an ever-growing range of online educational tools into our on-site interactions. This is how a smart in-class and out-of-class experience can be co-created by and for both educators and students.
“Start small; win big” was one final message our speaker insightfully left for the whole online audience to take away.
The online audience was greeted by Dr Holly CHUNG, Associate Director, Teaching and Learning Enhancement Section, Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
A literally warm and sweet smile and welcome was given by Mr Donn Gonda, Instructional designer, Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, University of Hong Kong.
Our participants, featuring both teachers and administrators, experienced the Miro-cle in different breakout rooms.
Our guest speaker, Donn, compared and contrasted different online collaborative tools.
