The Centre for Teaching and Learning (Digital Learning Section) recently conducted the second session of the “Working with Generative AI for Communication” workshop for students of BJC3216 – Communication and Artificial Intelligence, taught by Dr Janice Wong from the School of Communication on 5 March 2026.
Building on the conceptual foundations introduced in the first workshop, this session focused on hands-on multimodal content creation using Generative AI tools. The workshop was facilitated by Mr Kelvin Wan (music), Ms Charlotte Lee (image generation), and Mr Andy Chan (video creation) from the Digital Learning Section.
Students explored how AI can support communication through multiple creative formats. The session demonstrated AI-assisted music generation using Suno, image creation using Canva AI and Adobe Firefly, and text-to-video production using Invideo, allowing students to transform ideas into multimedia communication artefacts.
Participants also applied the C.R.A.F.T prompting framework to structure their prompts and experimented with revising AI-generated outputs through human judgement and editing workflows. The workshop emphasised that while Generative AI can accelerate creative production, human creativity and critical judgement remain essential for shaping meaningful communication.
