The Virtual Reality Centre (VRC) successfully organised Virtual Reality Week 2026 from 7 to 11 September 2026. The event attracted more than 100 participants, providing students and staff with opportunities to explore a range of virtual reality applications and learning experiences.
The event featured 11 VR experience sessions, attracting a total of 52 participants throughout the week. Participants explored VR applications under the themes of Culture, Heritage & Arts, Aviation & Maritime Logistics, and Journalism & Finance. New highlights this year included experience sessions in the University’s newly launched VR LED CAVE at Room A404 and the introduction of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) VR Scene, alongside popular experiences such as Tiger Balm Garden. The sessions provided students and staff with an opportunity to experience the University’s latest immersive learning facilities and VR application.
The event also featured the 3-day VR Bike Experience, organised in collaboration with the Student Affairs Office (SAO). Participants could choose between a 1.5 km competition route and an experience mode featuring an exclusive Aichi-Nagoya cycling route, introduced to promote the 2026 Asian Games. The competition featured male and female categories, with prizes awarded to the top three riders in each category. A total of 60 rides were recorded during the event. To commemorate the experience, each participant received an exclusive souvenir keychain designed by SAO.
