Seminar on “Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies”

To facilitate colleagues with better knowledge about emerging technologies for teaching and learning, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and Staff Development Committee (SDC) jointly organized a seminar entitled “Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies” on 12 April 2018. Dr Daniel Mo, Associate Director of Centre for Teaching and Learning (E-learning section) and Dr Ricky Wong, Assistant Professor of Department of Supply Chain and Information Management were invited as the seminar speakers.

In the seminar, Dr Mo and Dr Wong demonstrated how to transform from conventional education platform to smart education platform to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. Dr Mo introduced the new e-Learning services and demonstrated some e-learning tools to facilitate the interaction with students. Dr Wong also shared his valuable experience about using simulation and online game in his lectures. The seminar was instructive and enlightening. Participants were keen to raise questions and engage in discussion with the speakers during the Q & A session.

The seminar was followed with a visit to the Virtual Reality (VR) Laboratory for participants to have a chance to engage in VR experiences.
