To recognise the teaching excellence and innovative pedagogy of the academic staff at HSUHK, the Teaching Excellence Awards have been presented to our teachers to celebrate their splendid teaching performance since the 2014/15 Academic Year.

The Awards certificates were presented to the recipients at the HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminar I (2020/21) on 21 January 2021 (Thursday) as an opening ceremony to the Sharing Seminar Series.

The HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminar Series were initiated by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) since the 2015/16 Academic Year to promote teaching excellence beyond the pool of Awards recipients. CTL was glad and honoured to invite 7 Awards recipients to give 3 themed Sharing Seminars in 2021.
The first HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminar (2020/21), “Rethinking Language Teaching in Higher Education: Innovation in a Crisis”, was held on 21 January 2021 (Thursday), 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., at Fung Yiu King Hall (A401). To start the Seminar, Dr Ben Cheng, Director of CTL introduced the 7 Awards recipients. Professor Y.V. Hui, Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Acting Provost, gave an opening remark to congratulate the winners on their remarkable achievements in teaching and celebrate their dedication to education.

The Seminar was well-attended by a total of 49 colleagues, onsite and online. Language teachers or not, the participants enjoyed the interesting content offered by the speakers. The Q&A session of the Seminar also provided a chance for colleagues to discuss and exchange their experience in teaching.
The Sharing Seminar II, “Business Education for Students without Business Background” by Dr Kenneth Kwong, Dr Amy Wang and Ms Rosalie Woo, and the Sharing Seminar III on Service-Learning by Ms Maggie Wong and invited guests, will follow on 4 March 2021 (Thursday) and 8 April 2021 (Thursday) respectively.
